Former Chesterton resident Vietta Margaret Reglein, 78, or rural Wall Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, December 24, 1992 after a prolonged illness.
Funeral services wee held Dec. 28 at Peach Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Burial was in Wall Lake Cemetery.
Born Sept. 21, 1914 in Carroll County, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Eleanor Schroeder. On May 18, 1940, she married Charles W. Reglein, who she met while attending Valparaiso University, where she was a graduate. After their marriage, they lived in Chesterton for 10 years. In 1951, they moved to Iowa, where Charles took over the operation of Vietta's father's farm.
She is survived by her husband of Wall Lake; daughter Diana Alexander (husband Michael) of Bellevue, Neb.; son John Reglein (wife Donna) of Carroll; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, she taught Sunday School classes for many years, volunteered at the Twilight Acres Nursing Home, served on the Wall Lake school boars, and assisted 4-H activities.
