George Stephens, former resident dies at 83

George Stephens, 83, died last night in Escondido, Calif. He had moved to California 27 years ago from the area of Waverly and East Oak Hill rds.

His wife, the former Hazel Sears, survives as do many nieces and nephews here. Mr. Stephens was a past commander of American Legion Post 170, Chesterton.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete this morning, but Mrs. Stephens requests that any memorials be to one’s favorite worthy cause. The Stephens home address is 1001 Hale Ave., Space 49, Escondido, Calif. 92025.
