Frank Stephens Passes Away

Frank Stephens, a resident of this community all his life, passed away Sunday morning at 10 o’clock from a heart ailment caused by pneumonia. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Stephens was born in Waverly on Sept. 14, 1863, the son of Balthaser and Barbara Stephens. On April 7, 1910, he was united in marriage to Hattie Hjelm and they have resided on their farm on North 49 ever since.

Surviving besides Mrs. Stephens are two daughters, Dorothy of Chicago and Phyllis at home; two sisters, Mrs. John Boyle of Waverly and Mrs. John Larson of Tampa, Fla.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 o’clock from the Flynn chapel with burial in Chesterton cemetery. The local Masonic order, of which he was a member for many years, conducted the services.
