Francis L. Pliske dies at 78
Lifelong Porter resident Frances L. Pliske, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1992, at the emergency department of Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso.
The deceased was born on Jan. 29, 1914 in Porter to John and Anna (Stephens) Sievert.
On June 27, 1935, she married John Pliske in Chesterton. He survives.
She was a member of St. John United church in Chesterton and was a former member of the Women's Guild at St. John's.
In addition to her husband, Pliske is survived by daughter, Nancy (William) Pacholke of Porter; sister, Irene (Luther) Swoverland or Porter; brothers, Oliver (Rose) Sievert of Chesterton, and William (Leona) Sievert of Porter; and granddaughter, Cheryl (Jon) Behrndt of Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Arthur Sievert and Theodore Turner; and sisters, Ester Beck and Hazel Mills.
A funeral service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John United church, 225 W. Lincoln Avenue in Chesterton. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Robert B. Radak.
Burial will follow the service at the Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation has been scheduled from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton.
