Mrs. Dillinger Passes Away

Mrs. Etta Dillinger, a resident of this community nearly all her life, passed away a 6 o'clock this (Wednesday) morning a the age of 76, following a weeks illness of complications.

Etta Smith was born on Feb. 9, 1862, in Chesterton, the daughter of Andrew and Henrietta Smith. She was married to William Harbrecht, who passed away about forty-six years ago.

Mrs. Dillinger lived in Chesterton all her life with the exception of twenty years spent in Chicago Heights. She could relate many interesting tales concerning the history of this community. She was a member of St. Patrick's church here. Mrs. Dillinger was a devoted mother and a kind neighbor and she leaves many friends to mourn her passing.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara Crowe of Chicago Heights, and Mrs. Lillie Reglein of Chesterton; two sons, Lawrence Dillinger and William Harbrecht both of Chesterton; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Hulce of Michigan City, Mrs. Mary Moore of Chicago and a sister, Mrs. Louise Nelson of Kalamazoo; three brothers, John Smith of Michigan City, William Smith of Harvey, Illinois and Sylvester Smith of Benton Harbor, Mich. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Augusta Shultz died over thirty years ago, and two daughters and a son died at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock, Saturday morning at St. Patrick's church with Rev. E. F. Eisenhardt officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.
