Services Saturday for Charles Zane

Charles B. Zane, age 86, died at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16 at his home, 207 Beam st., Porter, after a lifelong residence in this area.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at the White Funeral home, the Rev. L. W. Schulenburg, St. Paul's Lutheran church, Porter, officiating. Mr. Zane was a member of St. Paul's church.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Chesterton cemetery.

Mr. Zane was retired from the plant protection department of the Sheet and Tim mill of Gary works, U.S. Steel, where he had worked for 17 years. Born June 19, 1877 in Liberty township, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Zane.

On his birthday in 1914 in Valparaiso, he married Lena Stephens, who survives. He also leaves two daughters and two sons. Mrs. Edward (Ruby) Buczkowski, Mrs. Frances (Marian) Wiesemann, Charles L. Zane, and Leslie Zane, all of Porter; six grandchildren and one great grandchild
