Funeral services for Arthur W. Sievert, 60, Rt. 2, Box 301, who died Sunday in St. Margaret's hospital, Hammond, after a brief illness are set for Wednesday.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesdayin Carl Edmonds Funeral home with the Rev. Pul H. Frankenfeld, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ of Michigan City officiating, and burial will follow in Chesterton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday. The family asks that donations be made to the kidney Foundation of St. Margaret's in Hammond.
The son of John and Anna (Stephens) Sievert, he was born in Chesterton Feb. 20, 1920, and married Lucy Rudunz Coepke, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dwight J. of Wheeler, and two brothers, Oliver and William of Chesterton, three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Miles of Adrean, Mich., Mrs. Irene Swoverland and Mrs. Francis Pliske of Chesterton, and two grandchildren, John and Joann.
He was a production planning supervisor at U.S. Steel's Gary Works.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 2511 of Porter, of Moose Lodge 1623 of Chesterton, and of St. John's United Church of Christ of Michigan City.
