Mrs Louisa M Spencer, nee, Stephens, died at her home near the Waverly school at 8:10 last Wednesday evening after an illness of ten days. Deceased was born in Waverly on the farm on which she passed away and was the daughter of the late B Stephens. Leakage of the heart was the cause of death. She is survived by three brothers, John of Gary, Frank and Charles of Porter, and two sisters, Mrs Boyle of Windsor Park, and Mrs J Larson of Clyde, IL. The funeral was held at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Porter Congregational Church.
Rev Crawford officiating. Interment was in the Chesterton cemetery. The following from away attended the funeral: Mrs Leonard of Englewood, Arthur Brody, Ruth Larson and Frank Hoenig of Chicago, and Frank Soper, of Windsor Park, Miss Anna Dickman, of Chicago.--The Chesterton Tribune, Thursday, March 30, 1916, page 4, column 6.
