Thomas Prence Governor was born in 1601 in Lechlade, England. He died on 29 Mar 1673 in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He married Patience Brewster on 5 Aug 1624.

Governor Thomas Prence, the immigrant, was born in England about 1600, came to America in 1621 and settled in Plymouth, later removing to Eastham. He married 1st to Patience Brewster, August 5, 1624 (this was the ninth marriage in Plymouth Colony). She died in 1634, and the records show three subsequent marriages of Prence.

He was Treasurer of the colony from 1637 to 1640; Governor's Assistant from 1632 to 1656, except for two short intervals; member of the Council of War in 1637; Commissioner for the United Colonies in 1645, and was eighteen times chosen Governor of Plymouth Colony. "A man of commanding presence and tried integrity." He died at Plymouth, March 29 1673.

Patience Brewster [Parents] was born in 1595 in Scrooby, Nottingham, England. She died in 1634. She married Thomas Prence Governor on 5 Aug 1624.

John Freeman Major [Parents] was born in 1621 in England. He died on 28 Oct 1719 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He married Mercy Prence on 13 Feb 1649 in Eastham, Barnstable, MA.

Major John Freeman, son of Edmund Freeman the immigrant, was born in England about 1621, and died at Eastham, Mass., October 28, 1719. He has a fine military record. In 1654 he was Ensign at Eastham. In 1656 and again from 1661 to 1666 he was deputy to the General Court under the title of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Council of War from 1667 to 1676, and as Captain was sent against the Indians at Taunton, Mass., in 1675. The companies from Barnstable, Eastham, Sandwich and Yarmouth having been organized as the 3rd Regiment, "John Freeman of Eastham was commissioned Major Commandant," and led the expedition against the Indians at Saconet in 1677. He also served as Governor's Assistant under Prence, Winslow and Hinckley. He married Mercy Prence at Eastham on February 13, 1649. She died at Eastham, September 28, 1711. They had ten children.

Mercy Prence [Parents] was born in 1632 in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She died on 28 Sep 1711 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. She married John Freeman Major on 13 Feb 1649 in Eastham, Barnstable, MA.

Lieutenant Edmund Freeman, son of Major John Freeman and Mercy (Prence) was born in Eastham, Mass., in June, 1657, as recorded in the Plymouth Colony Births. He married Sarah Mayo, by whom he had three sons and seven daughters. He was Lieutenant of Militia. He died at Eastham in February of 1717 or '18; his widow surviving him until 1745. Mrs. Freeman's daughter, Mary, married Samuel Hinckley about 1703.

Samuel Hinckley III [Parents] was born on 24 Sep 1684 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He died in Jan 1760 in Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine. He married Mary Freeman in 1706.

Samuel Hinckley, son of Samuel Hinckley and grandson of Governor Thomas Hinckley, was born at Barnstable, Mass., on September 24, 1684, and died in January 1760, at Brunswick, Maine. He married Mary Freeman, daughter of Lieutanent Edmund Freeman of Eastham, about 1706. He removed to Harwich, Mass., then Truro, Mass., and then to Biddeford, Me., where in 1735 he bought 35 acres of land. He was one of the founders of Biddeford First Church. Later he moved to Brunswick and settled at New Meadows. He was selectman at Brunswick for six years, and was known there as well at Biddeford as Deacon Hinckley.

Samuel Scammon Lt [Parents] was born about 1720. He married Mehitable Hinckley.

Mehitable Hinckley [Parents] was born on 25 Dec 1718 in Truro, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. She was christened on 10 Jun. She died on 6 Jun 1811 in Saco, York County, Maine. She married Samuel Scammon Lt.

Mehitable Scammon, dauther of Lieutenant Samuel and Mehitable (Hinckley) Scammon, was baptized June 10, 1753, and was married to Lieutenant Tobias Lord, or Arundel, as his first wife, December 3, 1772; they had four children, one of whom died in infancy.

Tobias Lord III [Parents] was born on 6 Apr 1778 in Kennebunk, York County, Maine. He died on 4 Sep 1854 in Wood-Ridge, Bergen County, New Jersey. He married Hanna Perkins on 3 Jan 1799 in Kennebunkport, , ME.

Hanna Perkins [Parents] was born on 19 Oct 1780 in Arundel. She died on 31 Jul 1846 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She married Tobias Lord III on 3 Jan 1799 in Kennebunkport, , ME.

Edmund Freeman I died in 1682 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth.

Edmund Freeman, the immigrant, came from England in 1635 in the shiip "Abigail" and settled at Lynn--then Saugus, later removing to Sandwich in 1637. He was one of the ten original grantees of land, afterwards incorporated as the town of Sandwich. He became one of the largest landowners of the town, and was always prominent and influential in its affairs. His wife, Elizabeth, died February 14, 1675. They had two sons and three daughters. He died at Sandwich in 1682. They were buried on his own land, and this site is the oldest burying place in Sandwich. The rustic monuments (known locally as "the saddle and pillion"), placed above their graves by Edmund Freeman's own order are still preserved.

Thomas Hinckley Governor [Parents] was born in 1618 in England. He died on 25 Apr 1705 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He married Mary Richards on 7 Dec 1641.

Thomas Hinckley, the sixth and last governor of Plymouth colony, was born in England about 1618, came to this country with his fater, Samuel Hinckley, and settled at Scituate, later removing to Barnstable. He was admitted as freeman of Plymouth Colony as early as 1645. In 1646 he was made Deputy from the town of Barnstable to the Colonial Court, and, was repeatedly chosen to this office until 1658, when he was made Governor's Assistant. Promoted to Deputy Governor in 1680, he was next year chosen Governor, and except during the interruption to the government, caused by the appointment of Sir Edmund Andros, Governor Hinckley held that office until 1692, when Massachusetts Colony and Plymouth Colony were united.

He married Mary Richards, daughter of Thomas Richards of Weymouth, December 7, 1641. They had eight children. Mary his wife, died June 24, 1659, and he married Mary Glover, March 16, 1660. He died in Barnstable, April 25, 1705.
